REJOICE! Facebook Autoplay Video Ads Almost Here

on Tuesday, Dec. 17th

Are you among the elect? If so, you may already be experiencing the wonder that is Facebook Video Ads that autoplay in your News Feed.

You’re so lucky.

What’s that? You find this practice abhorrent? An abomination? You who lap up the free joy that Facebook provides every day? How ungrateful!

Why think of all the ways in which Facebook lets you connect with your friends, family and stalkers. How they generously supply you with the ability to pay real world money so that the same number of friends can see your status updates as last year!

Flashing, blinking ads for movie adaptations of young adult novels are a small price to pay to keep those delightful Upworthy headlines flowing through your screen all day.

Don’t worry, if you have yet to see a video ad on your feed it will come soon enough. Unless you take a few steps that will prevent them from popping up in your browser.

You don’t want to do that, though. That’s just downright un-friendly. Even if you do, it will be alright. The phone ads can’t be blocked. Everybody wins.

(Serious note: at least the mobile ads will only work on Wi-Fi, data plans are safe for now.)
