Producer’s Guild Announces Digital Series Award Nominees

on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd

It’s awards season in Hollywood, and that extends right into the realm of digital entertainment.

The Producer’s Guild has slated up their list of nominees for Outstanding Digital Series for the 2014 awards:

Regular readers of the blog will recognize a familiar title or two in that mix. As Tubefilter noted in their write-up, the Guild opened up their awards to a wider field this past year.

Missing from the mix: web series backed by big TV studios. “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” already picked up an Emmy at this year’s ceremony, but this is an exceptionally competitive field. Two indies (LBD, VGHS), a Multi-Channel Network (Maker Studios), a major magazine (Wired) and an Internet giant looking to reclaim it’s cultural crown (Yahoo). Something of a bellwether shift there.

The Producer’s Guild Awards will be handed out on Jan 19th, 2014.
