Leading Game Engine Now Supports Oculus Rift VR System

on Thursday, Jun. 6th

What's so important about the news that Epic Games' middleware–Unreal Engine 4–now supports the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset?

For all intents and purposes UE4 is an industry standard in the video game business. The Unreal Engine is exceptionally popular with development studios who don't want to sink resources into developing their own engine.

The Rift is also supported by the Unity Engine, which is to indie devs what Unreal is to big budget projects.

This is far different from the kind of industry reaction we've historically seen around VR systems. Something is up with the Rift, and I can't wait to get my hands on one at E3.
