ArtZine talks to Korto Momolu of Project Runway fame about her clothes, her memories of Liberia, and her efforts to help Liberian women help themselves.
Project Runway Season Five runner up Korto Momolu recently showcased her fabulous designs at the Columbus Athletic Club to benefit Amani Liberia. An organization that helps women learn the ability to provide for themselves, Amani Liberia teaches women and provides a place for healing from the civil war.
Momolu was born in Liberia and came to the US shortly before the war. She is returning to Liberia for the first time in over 20 years to display a 27 dress collection in May to open the Amani Liberia center.
