Hacktavist Documentary ‘We Are Legion’ Goes To Theaters

Noah J Nelson on Thursday, Oct. 18th

You may recall our coverage of Slamdance this year, which featured the documentary We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists. The doc, by filmmaker Brian Knappenberger, is a fascinating look inside the world of the hacktivist collective Anonymous.

The film is in ultra-limited release this weekend, with a run that starts in the New York and LA areas on Friday.

  • NEW YORK – THE QUAD CINEMA
  • LOS ANGELES – LAEMMLE’S PASADENA PLAYHOUSE 7

The film will also be released on cable and broadband VOD October 30th. In the meanwhile, you can check out our interview with the filmmakers from earlier in the year.

I first encountered Sifteo Cubes back at IndieCade last October, and spent some time playing around with the little blocks which I first mistook for iPod Nanos.

THE WEEKENDER: PRESENT SHOCK

I’m going to go out on a limb here and promise you that this will be the first of two posts on Present Shock, the Douglas Rushkoff book that has been getting a mountain of attention in the tech press since it was released earlier this month.
