Romney Style
Not the first, but quite possibly the best parody video of viral music video Gangnam Style. Somehow the original video’s horse stable scene makes a whole lot more sense with Romney getting down in its midst. Dressage, anyone? -Teresa Chin
ContactCleanPro
I recently made the switch from a three-year-old brick of an Android device to the svelte and speedy iPhone 5. My old phone allowed me to maintain multiple address books, something that could be quite useful for those who want separate professional and personal contact lists, but was more of an annoyance for me because it lead to a balkanized mess. When the folks at my local Verizon store transferred my 1000 plus contacts over to my new iPhone, I ended up with hundreds of duplicates. I imagined hours of swearing and annoyance on my part sorting the debacle, but then I found the $0.99 app ContactCleanPro, which automatically removed the duplicates in less than five minutes. The bomb! – Brett Myers
Blasphemy
Omgomgomgomgzomg is perhaps the least articulate, and therefore least apt, response I could have to hearing that my unsparing and wise literary hero Sherman Alexie is out with a new book of short stories. Notice, I didn’t say “a book of new short stories.” If you’ve never read Alexie, tell me, how’s 1990 these days? Ok, rewind. If you’ve never read Alexie, you can cop this collection to catch up on selected greats like The Toughest Indian In The World and What You Pawn I Will Redeem, and you’ll also be blessed with the new work mixed in. I challenge you to come up with a more appropriate read for the forthcoming holiday. -Nishat Kurwa
If you’re looking for an alternative to Delicious, Clipboard.com is coming up as a competitor to watch. They have a very easy interface to clip either portions of content from a web page, or bookmark a whole web page. However, most importantly, they recently launched a mobile application that lets you easily access your clipped content on your iPhone. Hopefully the iPad-specific app is coming soon, because I’m already addicted. -Kurt Collins
The Heavyweight Champion of the Universe
In 1966, a high school student named Michael Aisner landed the interview of a lifetime – Muhammad Ali, a year before the champ would refuse to go to Vietnam. During the interview, Ali extemporized about a future fight in which he would land an intergalactic boxing title, predicting, “I expect the fight to go about ten seconds. I’m fighting the Green Giant up there…I hope to be back on Earth at about 1986.”
Tumblr and Blank on Blank partnered to create this animated version of the interview. Extended audio below. -Nishat Kurwa
