Somali Pirate Feature Film, Brought to You by VICE

Noah J Nelson on Friday, Sep. 14th

VICE, the youth media brand that evolved from an arts and culture magazine steeped in sex, drugs, and street fashion to a serious investor in hard news is getting into the feature film business. Their first venture: a full length adaptation of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning short Fishing Without Nets, which took viewers inside the life of a Somali pirate.

This is a big move for VICE, and if the feature film can capture the epic, tense tone on display in the trailer for the short, the brand has a debut stunner on its hands.
