Snoop Lion? Jah, It’s True

Snoop Dogg is taking to YouTube to announce his reincarnation as a reggae artist.

We thought it was a parody too. But apparently Snoop had a spiritual transformation after spending time in Jamaica, where he hung with rastas and was “positively impacted by…the Jamaican people who embraced him along the journey of being reincarnated into Snoop  Lion,” according to a Vice press release.

And it’s true that Snoop’s laid-back delivery and endorsement of cannabis culture meshes well with the genre. If the first track,  La La La, Snoop Lion’s collabo with superproducer Diplo, is any indication, he might not be a half bad addition to Jah’s army.

A live press conference was scheduled to happen on YouTube at 2:15 PST. Luckily for all of you, it seems there’s a little delay, so fire it up and wait for the announcement to go live.
