Source Filmmaker: Valve Gives Aspiring Animators A Huge Gift
Noah J Nelson on Thursday, Jun. 28th
You have to love a company like Valve. They spend a lot of effort on projects that brings new talent into the creative side of gaming.
For example, the new Source Filmmaker program. This is a tool they developed in-house to work on their own marketing shorts for their games. They’re going to be releasing the software as a beta soon and have begun taking sign-ups. Of course, you have to have an account on the company’s game distribution platform Steam in order to participate in the sign-up, but they wouldn’t be a business if they didn’t have some level of savvy.
If nothing else the pitch video for Source Filmmaker sure makes animation look easy. Odds are it isn’t. Still.. makes me wish I hadn’t forgotten my Steam password. Oh well.
