New eBook: Music in the Digital Age

Brandon McFarland on Tuesday, Jun. 26th

Andrew Dubber, author and founder of New Music Strategies, a music think tank and strategy group, has released a new ebook, Music in the Digital Age. This self published “book under construction” is an update to his 2007 book, The 20 Things You Must Know About Music Online, with new research, as music and technology has changed drastically even over the past five years.

In a quote from Dubber’s website regarding the new book, he writes:

For the past decade, I’ve sought to understand and articulate principles of online music commerce and culture for the digital age. This book captures and condenses those ideas – and provides a road map for thinking about independent music business and popular music culture online.

Music in the Digital Age is available for sale here as a ‘Pay What You Think It’s Worth’ download. Dubber has made the first few chapters available for free:

I first encountered Sifteo Cubes back at IndieCade last October, and spent some time playing around with the little blocks which I first mistook for iPod Nanos.
