Last Day To Enter Online Contest To Eat With Candidate…Er, President Obama

Turnstyle on Tuesday, Jun. 26th

The charm offensive is back online, where BarackObama.com is promoting a contest in which the winner gets an audience with the President over a meal.

Today’s the last day to enter. His team must be hoping this promotion, leveraging the President’s personal connection to supporters, goes over better than his campaign’s animated depiction of The Life of Julia, an imaginary beneficiary of Obama’s policies who was criticized as an elite archetype that didn’t say much about his legislation on behalf of working class constituents.

One of the promotional videos for the Meal With Barack contest includes a biased, but beloved, source, testifying that yes, he really is a good dinner companion. And you might get a movie ticket out of it too.
