Why The Net Rocks: Bullied School Bus Monitor Rewarded Big

Noah J Nelson on Thursday, Jun. 21st

This one shows the power of the ‘net, especially Reddit, to rally around an injustice and make it better. Storify user Ben Doernberg gathers up the pertinent facts:

A shocking video of middle schoolers verbally abusing a poorly-paid, hearing-impaired grandmother of eight hired to keep them safe on the school bus went viral on Wednesday. Over 14,000 online strangers rallied to Karen’s side, donating $300,000 to fund a vacation, or maybe even an early retirement!

Now if we could only find that kind of community spirit to, I dunno, save the country.
