Ryan Seacrest Executive Producing Draw Something Game Show

Popular mobile game Draw Something will soon be testing Hollywod’s art skills on network television. Zynga, which owns the game, has hooked up with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest who will be executive producing a Draw Something game show on CBS.

CBS describes the show as follows: “Teams of celebrities and everyday users will test their skills in front of a studio audience to ear money and big laughs. Viewers can also play along at home for a chance to win prizes and compete with celebrities.”

CBS has tried flipping internet memes before with the short lived $#*! My Dad Says, which was based on a popular Twitter feed and lasted approximately half a season.

As has been reported by venturebeat.com and others, Zynga has also been seeing its stock drop recently. Is this show proof that the internet-to-TV trend has reached its peak, and is now passing away into the foggy corners of our memories? And if so, is CBS the palce where internet memes go to die? I just hope the celebrities get to draw on an iPad.

I first encountered Sifteo Cubes back at IndieCade last October, and spent some time playing around with the little blocks which I first mistook for iPod Nanos.
