Jay-Z Invests In Duracell’s Wireless Power Stations

Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z has partnered with Duracell Powermat to introduce Wireless Power Nation — a wireless battery charging device, which will be featured at a club Hov owns.
Powermat, which has been around for a while now, is a more expensive convenient way to charge your iPod or cell phone. You simply lay your Powermat-enabled phone (which cost around $40) on the mat (that cost $100) and you’ll hear a “ZZZT” noise as it connects wirelessly and begins charging.
Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club is the first of many venues to be outfitted with Powermat charging stations inside the resin-top bar area.
“I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.”
Besides the price, I’m sold. Look for competitors to provide a cheaper alternative as this kind of tech grows in popularity.
