On October 26, 2011, a general assembly at Occupy Oakland voted unanimously to strike on November 2, 2011, directing anyone who supports the Occupy cause to abstain from working, going to school, or spending money. Turnstyle News reporter Denise Tejada attended a general press conference and asked supporters to explain why they would be joining the general strike in Oakland.
