Protesters descended upon 14th Street and Broadway Ave. in downtown Oakland Wednesday morning to show support for Occupy Oakland’s planned general strike. Speakers such as activist Angela Davis (pictured), Rabbi Lerner, rapper Boots Riley, and other community activists, began rallying supporters promptly at 9am.
Turnstyle News’ Brandon McFarland made his way through the crowds, capturing the diversity of the event, as an estimated 1,000 protesters filled the streets.
