Mos Def Joins ‘Dexter’

Brandon McFarland on Wednesday, May. 11th

Actor and hip hop artist Mos Def has finalized a deal for a multi-episode arc in season six of Showtime’s ‘Dexter’ though it is unclear in how many episodes Mos Def will appear. According to the Hollywood Reporter Mos’ character is “a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence.” As a mainstay on hit comedy sketch show Chappelle Show, doing voice over work for Boondocks and playing opposite Jack Black in Be Kind Rewind, Mos’ best acting work involves making us laugh. But hopefully this role will be a pleasant departure as Dexter comes off from it’s most popular season.

Here’s the trailer for season six:

I first encountered Sifteo Cubes back at IndieCade last October, and spent some time playing around with the little blocks which I first mistook for iPod Nanos.
