Apple TV Set Speculation Misses The Mark

Tech pundits love nothing more than speculating over what Apple is going to do next. Over the weekend this became a rather large round of gossip and daydreaming about Apple entering the HDTV market. The big guns of Apple fandom- Daring Fireball blogger John Gruber and Instapaper developer Marco Ardent amongst them- have all weighed in. The general consensus being:

“Why would Apple want to get into the HDTV market?”

To which I say: Think Different.

What if Apple didn’t get into the HDTV market so much as equip their next generation of Cinema Display monitors with built in Apple TV chips and inputs that let them double as a TV?

Boom.
