Weird West Webseries: Trails of Tarnation

Noah J Nelson on Thursday, Feb. 24th

“Internet culture” is a squirrely thing. Often geeky, nerdy, or whatever adjective for “smart oddball” you want to use, there are a billion (Scientific fact! Maybe.) sites out there that cater to every sense of humor possible. One constant I’ve sussed out over the years amongst the strangest of the strange (self-identifying here, people, so don’t get in a huff) is a shared love of Nick Gurewitch’s Perry Bible Fellowship– just about the weirdest collection of webcomics you could possibly imagine.

There haven’t been strips for a while, but Gurewitch is back with a new project, Trails of Tarnation. Trails is a twelve part serial Western webseries shot with actual film cameras and possessing the same sense of whimsy and menace that makes Perry Bible Fellowship so special.

Sifteo Cubes: Blurring the Edges of Play

I first encountered Sifteo Cubes back at IndieCade last October, and spent some time playing around with the little blocks which I first mistook for iPod Nanos.
